Instagram user search
Instagram user search, no account needed
Find Instagram accounts by name or username without signing in, then open any public profile's report. Searching is free.
How it works
How to search Instagram users without an account
- 01
Type a name or username
Enter at least 2 letters: a full name, part of a username or a business name. Spaces, dots and underscores are fine.
- 02
Pick the right account
Instagram's best matches appear with profile pictures, names, verified badges and a lock on private accounts, so you can tell look-alikes apart.
- 03
Open the report
Tap Report on a result to open that account's own page, with its public profile and links to watch its stories, browse its posts or see its followers.
What is an Instagram user search?
An Instagram user search finds Instagram accounts by name or username without an Instagram account or login. Type what you know about the person or business, and you get the closest matching accounts, each with a profile picture and name. It works as an Instagram username search and lookup that isn't linked to you, because no Instagram account is used to run it.
Search goes as far as names and usernames. It can't find people by phone number, email or photo, because Instagram doesn't let outsiders search that way, and we won't pretend otherwise. If someone isn't in the results, try their exact username, a nickname or another spelling, or ask them for their profile link.
What each search gives you
- Up to 6 best-matching accounts for each search
- Profile picture, @username and full name for every match
- Verified badges, and a lock icon on private accounts
- A Report link that opens any result on its own page
- Searches that don't count toward your daily lookups
Why people search here
- 01
Find a business's real account
Search the shop or brand name and pick the result with the verified badge instead of a copycat page.
- 02
Look someone up without signing in
No Instagram account, or on a work computer? Find the person by name and check their public profile in the browser.
- 03
Get the exact username for another tool
Most tools need a username. Search the name here first, then use what you find in the story viewer or the followers viewer.
Good to know
- Search works on names and usernames only. Phone numbers, emails and photos can't be searched.
- You get Instagram's top matches, not every account with that name. Common names may need the exact username.
- Private accounts show up in results, but opening one gives only its name, photo and counts.

FAQ
User search: your questions
Yes. Type a name or username here; you don't need an Instagram account, a login or an app. The search isn't linked to you in any way, and nothing is saved to an Instagram profile.
Type their full name, or the part you know, and press Search. Check the profile pictures and names in the results. If they're not there, try a nickname or a different spelling.
No. Instagram only lets people outside an account search by name and username, so that's all this tool does. Be wary of any site that promises a phone number search.
You get Instagram's 6 best matches for what you typed. If the person isn't among them, add more of their name, or try their exact username if you know it.
No. Searching is free and doesn't count toward anything. Opening an account's report from the results uses one of your 3 free lookups a day.
Yes, marked with a lock. You can find them, but their posts, stories and followers stay private; you'll only see the name, profile picture and counts.
No. Instagram doesn't tell people who searched for them, and this search doesn't run through an account of yours. Nothing is followed or viewed in your name.
